Reed Gym Expansion Begins

Loss of Graduate Studies Senators

Last year, students voted on a new constitution which will not award senators to the School of Graduate Studies. Instead, the new constitution ruled that all aspiring senators will run through their college. However, this decision was made after electing senators for the School of Graduate Studies, so the elected senators have been allowed to hold their position for this year.

I read with interest Dr. Habib Sadid's concern that emphasis on ISU research might damage traditional teaching and learning or service excellence. Universities have the responsibility to create, share and improve new knowledge through research, not simply teach what someone else has done.
