The Century High School Bands Program will be holding its tenth annual Potato Pizzazz event this Saturday, Jan. 28.
The event features a potato bar for attendees to partake in as they enjoy musical performances and dancing.
"Last year was the most successful so far, with about 300 people in attendance, swing dancing and photos," said Cassie McBean, a student teacher with the high school band programs.
McBean is also a senior studying music education at Idaho State University.
About 70 percent of this year's graduating Century High band members plan on attending ISU in the fall.
The ISU jazz band, along with the CHS jazz band and a percussion ensemble, will provide the evening's entertainment.
Proceeds from the potato bar will go to several different areas of the band program, which is comprised of around 90 high school students.
"The money will be used to help pay for instruments for the band, the 2012 marching show, and help students travel to a Heritage Festival Competition in Seattle, Wash.," said McBean.
The event will take place in the commons area of Century High School Jan. 28 from 6-9 p.m. The cost is $10 per person, and 5 x 7" photograph prints of the event will be available for $5 per two.
